Main Materials

Two Main Construction Types

1. Bolted steel silo
   • Panels bolted together
   • Easy to transport, install, dismantle, and relocate
   • Most common for export and large projects
2. Spiral silo (Lipp silo)
   • Formed by rolling and bending steel coil on-site
   • Very strong, airtight structure
   • Faster installation for large diameters

1. Hopper Bottom (Cone Bottom) Steel Silo

• Sloped conical bottom
• Gravity discharge
• No residue, easy cleanout
• Small to medium capacity
• Best for: seed, feed, frequent handling

2. Flat Bottom Steel Silo

• Flat floor on concrete foundation
• Large capacity (up to thousands of tons)
• Lower cost per ton
• Needs unloading auger & sweeper
• Best for: long-term bulk storage, large farms, ports
